A long time love of Ron’s life was race horses. Along with his wife Margie by his side, he spent years training, breeding and breaking thoroughbred race horses for some of the finest ranches in Montana and Washington.
1 of 13 children, Ron was proceeded in death by all siblings and ten years ago by his loving wife of 42 years, Margie Meyer in Billings, Montana. Since, he had relocated to be closer to family in Kansas City, living with his loving daughter Tamala Sue Meyer.
Ron is survived by his children and spouses, Tammy, Todd and Tommi, Dan and Melissa. Grandchildren include Jessi, Austin, Loganne, Noah, and Joshua. Great grandchildren include Arabelle, Georgia, Emmett, and Liam. Grand-dog Karma Jean the beagle, brought love and joy to his life. Additionally, many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Special friends of mention were Glenda who was best friends with Ron and Margie in Montana, and newer friends that really were there for Ron during his last years were Chandler and his daughter Brittney.
Recently Ron has had a lot of influence and impact on friends at the Ward Parkway lanes. Here he worked part time, bowled in leagues, and touched lives young and old with his friendship and advice.
Ron requested a celebration of life in lieu of services, as he has donated his body to Kansas City University for the training of our future medical professionals. The celebration of life is tentatively planned for Friday evening, October 10th, an evening of fellowship and bowling at Ward Parkway Lanes, where Ron frequented over the last 10 years.
Remembering Him
Ronald (Ron) Robert Meyer, 83 years of age, passed away peacefully among friends and family at the Kansas City VA Medical Center on Saturday September 13, 2025 at approximately 4:50 PM. Ron lived in Kansas City, Missouri and was an outgoing and positive influence on many who had the privilege to know him.
Ron was born to Clarence Newton Meyer and Alwina Jessie (Chambers) Meyer, on October 13, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ. As a young man he worked construction framing houses before enlisting in the Army to serve in the post Korean War conflict.
In the Army, Ron defended the DMZ line into South Korea, was trained to drive tanks, and received top secret crypto clearance for vital communications during the war.
Ron was a jack of all trades, . . . he held many occupations including owning and running cleaning businesses in Kansas City and Montana, donut shops in Lees Summit, Independence and Create, Nebraska. He managed several Zarda Dairy locations around the metro in the 1970’s, and spent years in truck driving for CF, PIE and Walmart before retiring. He was honored with truck driving top safety awards over 5 million miles accident free.

Final Tribute
When I die, give what is left of me to children, and old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, cry for your brother walking the street beside you. And when you need me, put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give me. I want to leave you something, something better than words or sounds. Look for me in the people I’ve known or loved, and if you cannot give me away, at least let me live in your eyes, and not in your mind. You can love me best by letting hands touch hands, and by letting go of children that need to be free. Love doesn’t die, people do. So, when all that’s left of me is love - give me away.
